Happy Memorial Day

My grandparents proudly served their country during WWII. My grandfather fought in the war traveling all over Europe while my grandmother received training as a Cadet Nurse. They met right after my grandfather returned from the War and they got married shortly after. My grandfather was in the Army for over 30 years - he trained many men for the Korea and Vietnam before retiring in 1973. My grandparents were wonderful patriots and taught my brother and I alot about discipline, routine, "waste not, want not" and were the ultimate environmentalists. As children of the depression, they were not materialistic and knew the value of the dollar and sacrifice. They only purchased what they needed, grew their own vegetables, recycled, repurposed, conserved utilities, rarely ate out except for special occasions, enjoyed walks and working with their hands, and well, I could go on all day. Suffice it to say that I am not a product of daycare. I was raised by my grandparents while my parents worked and it was wonderful.
