I've kayaked rivers and the ocean but never a lake. Yesterday we rented a tandem kayak from Austin Canoe & Kayak and headed to Pace Bend Park for a full day of kayaking on Lake Travis. That full day turned into about an hour and a half due toe the intense workout. We quickly realized that lake kayaking is all about constant, rhythmic paddling and fighting the current and wakes from ski boats. We had a great time but it was definitely a shoulder and core workout. I must say we're a little addicted now and already planning more floats and "workouts" in the very near future.
