Willie Nelson in the Harba

Just this past Saturday night, Seth and I saw the legendary Willie Nelson in concert in one of the best venues in Boston, the Bank of America Pavillion. I know anything that starts with some corporate BS name must mean that the venue is obscenely gargantuan. The pavillion is an exception. It's a small outdoor venue located right on the waterfront nestled among quaint restaurants and sailboats. There's a covered area which probably has about 2000 seats in front of the stage and then an area directly behind the covered area that has 50 tables. It was amazing to see Willie in such an intimate setting on a beautiful day with the sun shining and a cool ocean breeze. Plus they were serving good beer, a variety of flavors from the local brewery here, Harpoon! Willie was of course awesome and so full of life. His guitar playing was amazing and his voice has not diminished with age. He was so entertaining and really got the crowd going by kicking it off with Whiskey River while simultaneously unveiling huge Texas flag in the back of the stage. We cheered, toasted Willie on several occasions, and danced the night away.

We also scored some tickets to see Radiohead at the same venue next week. I can't wait. I've always wanted to see them but as you know, Radiohead didn't quite make it to Nashville. another great thing about living in Boston... everyone eventually makes it here.
