A Light Spin in and around Nantucket

Seth and I just got back from a fun day trip to Nantucket. Nantucket is a small island with lots of beaches, bike trails, vacation homes, and of course is renowned as THE vacation destination for preppies. We began our day by packing up our bikes and driving to Harwich, Mass to catch a high speed ferry. Upon arriving to the island, we grabbed our bikes, a couple of sandwiches and rode around the market. Within just a few minutes, we found the bike trail that led to the beach. The beach was really nice with lovely sand - no rocks! The water was a bit cold but Seth enjoyed it while I watched from the shore. The weather was perfect for a day at the beach. After a couple of hours, we headed back to town on our bikes, did some shopping and had a nice dinner. The harbor (downtown) area is a quaint village with many shops where you can buy the latest preppie fashions. We saw lots of preppies there and I felt quickly out of place because I didn't have a collar to pop! We vowed that we would dress more appropriately on our next visit and the entire trip inspired us to host our own version of an authentic clambake complete with ralph lauren, cape cods, and lobsters.

We found the trail....

that led to the beach!

Now it's time to catch the ferry back home just in time to see the beautiful sunset!
