great music + good friends + lone star = ACL

Standing Room ONly at MGMT

Seth & I enjoying BECK

Hi all. Seth and I are on our way for the final day of the Austin City Limits festival. We have really enjoyed all the music that ACL has offered and catching up with a lot of Seth's college friends. In fact, it is probably the best festival that I have ever been to. Everyone is so laid back and the music is fantastic. Plus the weather has been quite bearable with some cloud coverage and cool breezes. Over the last 2 days, we have gone to the following shows and enjoyed either a song or two or the entire set of Vampire Weekend, Jakob Dylan, Patty Griffin, Eli Young Band, Jenny Lewis, David Byrne, G. Love & Special Sauce, Manu Chao, Fleet Foxes, Go to 11, Jose Gonzalez, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, Man Man, MGMT, Old 97's, Drive-by Truckers, Connor Oberst & the Mystic Valley Band, Iron & Wine, and BECK!

Friday was less crowded and we had no problem at all getting a great spot to sit. However, yesterday was uber crowded and there was standing room only at some of the shows (MGMT, John Fogerty). Luckily we got a decent spot between two stages. The downside is that we were really far back from the stage which is okay considering the number of ppl. We didn't have to keep moving around (important as the day turns into evening and after you've enjoyed way too many lone stars).

Today we're hoping to pedal to the festival early so we can stake out a sweet spot and catch the Raconteurs, Galactic, Blues Traveler, Foo Fighters, as well as check out some new bands (Heartless Bastards, Band of Horses) along the way.
