I had the unique pleasure of promoting the Safe Passing Bill at the Capitol yesterday with my colleagues at BikeTexas. It was really a lot of fun going from office to office and talking with Senators, Representatives, and Staffers about the bill. Interested in helping get this bill passed? Click here for more information on the bill, contact your Senator and Representatives to voice your support and/or come to Austin on Monday, April 20 and join our efforts on Cyclists in Suits Lobby Day, a bi-annual event, held during the regular Texas legislative sessions. This event gives cyclists an opportunity to share their love of cycling with elected officials. The goal is to have cyclists from every legislative district in Texas visit the capitol and show the legislature that cyclists are voters and we want them to represent our interests. Clubs from Houston, Dallas and San Antonio have chartered buses for the trip, so check with your bike club about doing something similar. I'll be there!
