No more crimlaw! The final was excruciating and my head is still spinning. In fact, I'm still so rattled that I actually did a load of laundry and forgot to put the soap in. Dop! Oh well, I was in a total funk when I handed in my test. I made a quick exit after waiting for my friends and eavesdropping on others' excited remarks. Only 1 person finished early in my section. Definitely a sign of its brutality. Sigh. It's over. Afterwards, I strolled about the city listening to my iPod and did some shopping. The weather is amazing right now - sunny and warm. Almost tropical. There were ppl everywhere, just wandering around and enjoying it from patios, the commons, benches or just strolling. I couldn't believe how crowded the sidewalks were. This is definitely the most beautiful time of year in Boston. All the flowers and trees against the backdrop of old architecture and brownstones.
I made my way to Wendys and indulged in a burger and FF. It's been ages. I then made my way to City Sports and got a new cell phone and iPod clip for my messenger bag so that I don't have to wear a jacket or hoodie with pockets for them this summer. Great finds. Afterwards, I just started walking and found myself in front of the MFA. Even though the weather was beautiful, I felt the tug of the Hockney exhibit and my favorite Monet. So I went inside, got my Monet fix and then headed over to the exhibit. Lucky me, members get free admission to special exhibits! The exhibit was amazing. Art makes me so happy. Especially bright and vibrant art when I'm in a not so vibrant mood. Hockney's portraits are so amazing and he has such a sense of humor. There were lots of portraits of his mother and those closest to him which I find very endearing.
Some things I observed while strolling gave me pause and/or made me smile a little:
*A carload of girls cruising with the windows down and singing that song from Grease. You know the one - "you're the one that I want....oooo...ooooo..oooo..
*A lady lounging on the lawn at the Church Scientist suddenly jumped up and was making all of these screeching noises. I didn't want to stare but I wondered if she had terets.
*A young teen or probably pre-teen waiting at the bus stop had a little fuzzy black mustache. I wondered if he started shaving it so that he could actually grow one. I remember guys doing that. Silly isn't it. We want to grow up so soon.
*An older lady who obviously didn't go out in the city much stopped a young gentleman and asked where she could get a cup of coffee because she was really early for her hair appointment.
I'm so proud of myself for remember to blog about these things. Maybe I'll smile again when I re-read this in the future at some point.
